Goodbye to 2020!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! It was nice to have nowhere to go and to relax at home over the holiday. I am looking forward to the new year and the hope it brings. This has been a hard year for so many and I feel fortunate to have had so much time for activities, that I traveled to some wonderful places, and spent so much time with my family.

Though I have felt particularly off this year, I seem to have developed a bit of "Cherophobia". I heard therapist Lori Gottlebi discussing it on a podcast and realized I have had this dreadful knot in my stomach that the other shoe is about to drop. After so many almosts and paths towards a new beginning, I just keep thinking of a lyric from one of Taylor Swift's newest songs "Happiness", she sings "I was dancing when the music stopped/And in the disbelief/I can't face reinvention/I haven't met the new me yet". I do not ask for any sympathy, I just wish to be honest in my endeavor to discover my next adventure. I know so many in the world are in the same boat right now, which gives me comfort.

But 2020 did have some great spots to it, so here is my year in review!

January started with a work trip to Hawaii, one of my favorite places in the world.

Then another work trip took me to Las Vegas where I saw the Cirque show Love, I had never seen a show before and am so grateful to have seen it before the world turned upside down.

Zoomed a lot.

When the world reopened a bit, I visited Cambria and Big Sur for the first time.

I turned 33 and got to watch the most sunsets of my life this year.

I spent 2.5 weeks in NYC for a job interview. This trip was a highlight of 2020 for me!

Spent a week at the beach!

I went to Zion, another first time trip!

Palm Desert mini-vacations to get out of town

Lots of babysitting, more embroidery, and tie-dye!

Rosie was the MVP of 2020 for me.

I am truly looking forward to 2021!
